At Pinterest, we connect Pinners with products and ideas they love. Within the Ads Conversion Modeling team, we focus on building innovative machine learning solutions that measure and optimize the effectiveness of advertising, respecting user privacy choices.
In this role, you will be guiding the technical directions, leading the development, and advancing the state-of-the-art ML solutions that power conversion measurement and optimization. You will influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in privacy preserving ML techniques and build performance focused ads optimization systems.
What you'll do:
- Lead projects that involve developing and deploying state-of-the-art (and beyond) ML models in production advertising systems, with a focus on conversion modeling and measurement.
- Collaborate and partner with cross-functional teams across the company to help define and drive forward-looking ML strategy for privacy preserving conversion modeling and optimization.
- Be hands-on and develop models and systems that lead to step-function improvements to our topline metrics
- Mentor and grow junior ML engineers in the team and partner teams and help to uplevel ML talent across the organization
What we’re looking for:
- MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Statistics or related field
- 6+ years of industry experience with related background in Recommender Systems, Ads Ranking and related products.
- 2+ years of experience as TLM or EM managing engineering teams
- Strong software engineering and mathematical skills with knowledge of machine learning
- Hands-on experience with large-scale online ranking/recommendation systems.
- Experience with Ads domain is a plus, especially privacy preserving modeling.
In-Office Requirement Statement:
- We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
- This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration once per week, and therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from one of the following offices: San Francisco, Palo Alto, Seattle.
