Our client, a pioneering health tech data company, is seeking a Contract Privacy Engineer to provide targeted, project-based support on an as-needed basis. This role is ideal for a technically skilled privacy professional who thrives on embedding privacy-by-design principles into product development and building scalable, automated solutions to safeguard sensitive healthcare and genomic data. The ideal candidate brings deep experience with privacy engineering, strong coding abilities (Python, SQL), and a track record of implementing PETs and automated privacy controls. This is a fully remote role, collaborating directly with the CPO/AGC, and offers the opportunity to shape privacy architecture at a critical stage of growth. This is a fully remote, fractional, as-needed role working directly with senior stakeholders.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Significant privacy engineering experience, with healthcare/genomics background preferred
- Privacy by design expertise - proven track record implementing privacy-left methodologies
- Privacy enhancing technologies - hands-on experience with PET’s and automated privacy controls
- Technical proficiency - strong coding skills (Python, SQL) and experience with data engineering platforms
- Healthcare data experience - understanding of PHI, genomic data, and clinical research privacy requirements
- Privacy-left implementation - advise on shifting privacy controls earlier in development lifecycle
- Automation development - create and automate AI-enabled privacy workflows
- Technical privacy controls - design and implement automated privacy safeguards
- Privacy engineering consultation - provide technical guidance on privacy architecture decisions
- Automation development - build tools and processes to streamline privacy compliance
