Our client, a global enterprise in the aviation industry, is seeking a Senior Director of Global Privacy Program to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for strengthening the company's personal data protection program to ensure compliance with privacy regulations like GDPR. You will work closely with various teams across the organization to design and implement program structures and processes to ensure full compliance. The ideal candidate will have a mix of operational experience, subject matter knowledge of GDPR, and technical competence in data processing technologies. This position offers the opportunity to drive change and make privacy a core component of the organization. The is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days a week onsite and can be based out of Scottsdale, Cincinnati, Dallas, or San Antonio. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a cross-functional project team to design, build, and implement a global privacy program in compliance with applicable local privacy laws/regulations, with a focus on GDPR
- Oversee all aspects of assigned privacy program management, including defined project objectives, deliverables, and target completion deadlines
- Build relationships with functional leaders and gain their support and commitment in delivering to the plan
- Act as a subject matter expert in privacy programs and laws to assist functional leaders in the implementation of new processes and systems compliant with those laws
- Report program status, plans, risks, and issues to executive leadership teams
- Act as an advisor to enterprise leaders to ensure company policies and privacy laws are met
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Several years of data privacy, program management, governance, and/or operations experience
- Knowledge of global data and privacy regulations, laws, and compliance tools
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, and ability to interact at all levels of the organization
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills using data to drive decisions in a fast-paced business environment
- Experience working on complex, cross-functional projects as a program manager
- Experience applying privacy frameworks (e.g., GDPR, PIPEDA, etc.) and privacy qualifications
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 10% of the time
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Law, or related discipline
- Formal program management qualification or equivalent evidence of experience
- Solid understanding of core privacy laws and principles
- Privacy qualifications (e.g., CIPP/CIPM) are preferred
